Earth, Fire, & Spirit Pottery Art Gallery is gearing up for a busy fall season following a summer full of visitors passing through our little Lexington. Daniel and Jessy have been busy developing new designs available in the gallery as well as online.

Earth, Fire, & Spirit Pottery is pleased to announce that we are now carrying work by ceramic artists Laura Cooke of Greensboro, NC. Laura grew up in North Carolina and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art concentrating in Photography from Furman University in 2006. She learned to throw pottery in the hilltop town of Cortona, Italy and fell in love with it while living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She decided to pursue pottery and moved to Portland, Oregon to study in the ceramics program at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. She apprenticed under renowned potter Victoria Christen while establishing her own pottery business.

This Friday marks the return of our monthly rotating art shows in the gallery for the year. This month we are pleased to feature art work by Rockbridge County High School students to celebrate National Student Art Month. All proceeds will be donated back to the RCHS art department. The opening reception for this show will be during the First Friday Art Walk 5pm to 7pm.

After a brief winter break, with some lovely beach time, we have been hard at work in the studio to prepare for our busy season in the Gallery downtown Lexington. All of our firings so far have turned out really nice and you can expect to see new work trickling into the Gallery over the next month.  We will also be listing works on our Etsy page and offering free shipping. Visit our shop often to see what’s new!

With love from our family to yours
